IU’s Japan Showcase is a success!

Posted on January 25, 2012

IU recently held her 1st Japan Premium Live showcase last January 24 at the Bunkamura Orchard Hall to announce her Japanese debut.

The Bunkamura Orchard Hall is considered to be a more elegant and professional ‘arts’ venue compared to other concert/event halls. The venue was selected because it is conducive to better highlight IU’s vocal talents and also to give her fans a wonderful performance.

She performed her hit songs “Rain Drop“, “Good Day“, “Last Fantasy” and others with the help of  Tokyo’s New City Orchestra, which took the quality of  her performance to another level. She performed the Japanese version of her hit song “Good Day” ahead of her full-album release which gave fans a preview of IU’s vocal talents.

Fans of all ages were present during IU’s showcases. A fan in her twenties said: “I think IU has the best vocals of all the K-pop artists. She can pull off a wide variety of music, including dance and ballad and her music is truly beautiful.”

Also present was Japanese Newspaper Nikkan Sports one of the leading newspapers in Japan, they remarked, “IU’s vocal talent is her greatest secret weapon. Her vocals are much more amazingly powerful now that we have seen her perform live and we are looking forward to IU’s future in Japan.”

It seems IU’s future in Japan is very bright indeed! Her first  Japanese single “Good Day” will be released on March 21st so stay tuned!
